  • 1 lb homemade or premade pizza dough
  • ¼ c Bella Sun Luci Sauce Starter Tomato Basil
  • 1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ c fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ c olive oil


  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round shape.
  3. Evenly spread the Bella Sun Luci Sauce Starter Tomato Basil over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, adjusting the amount to your preference. Place three basil leaves on top of the cheese.
  5. Fold the dough over to cover the sauce and toppings, creating a half-circle shape. Pinch the edges to seal the calzone. Repeat this process until the sauce and toppings are enclosed within the dough.
  6. Flip the calzone so that the pleated edge is facing downward.
  7. Using a floured rolling pin, gently roll the calzone into a flat disc, taking care not to flatten it too much and let the filling spill out.
  8. Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of the calzone.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the calzone is golden brown.
